No. Joyful AI Lab was created from the professionally filmed footage of our original two-day Buildathon in Singapore, but we've carefully edited and rebuilt it specifically for self-study. You still get to experience the energy of the live room, real students building, asking questions, getting stuck, troubleshooting, and having breakthroughs, without sitting through two straight days of event footage. The course is divided into 22 bite-sized lessons, most around 5 to 10 minutes long, with the resources and instructions you need built into the experience as you go. And because we already taught this material live once, we got to see exactly where people got confused, what questions came up, and where they needed more support. We used all of that to make this version easier to follow and put into action.

Come anyway. Bring your half-formed thoughts, scribbled notes, or pure curiosity. We've helped people shape a lead magnet out of less. The early lessons are literally for finding the part that's yours.

The only thing you’ll pay for is a Claude Pro plan, about USD 20 a month. We recommend it, it will easily cover everything you build here, and it’s well worth it. You can use Claude’s free plan instead, but be prepared to split your work into shorter sessions, because you’ll hit your usage limit and have to wait before you can carry on. Everything else runs on free plans. Kit, for your email list and sequence, is free for one automated sequence (if you’re already using that free sequence for something else, you’ll need a paid Kit plan). Netlify, which puts your landing page online, is free. Wispr Flow, a voice-typing app, is optional. And an internet connection, of course.

You can, with a little extra legwork. The whole course is taught in Claude, and every screen and step you see is Claude’s, so that’s where it will feel smoothest and where we can best support you. Our five AI employees are built on an open skills standard, though, so they can run in ChatGPT and Codex too. On a paid ChatGPT plan you can upload them under Plugins, then Skills, and call them up in Work mode. You’ll just be translating some of the steps yourself. Our recommendation is a Claude Pro plan for your build, and you can keep using ChatGPT for everything else.

Yes. You can start as soon as you join, and the bite-sized lessons unlock as you complete each step. Follow along and build as you go, so you’re putting what you learn to work right away.

You don’t have to settle for work that sounds almost like you. We’ll show you how to give AI your stories, perspective, and standards to work with — and how to spot and fix the bits that feel generic or off. You decide what’s good, what needs changing, and what you’re willing to put your name on. AI helps you make it; you stay in creative control.

You'll have access to Joyful AI Lab for as long as the programme continues to exist. We're not planning to take it away from you after a set period of time. Because AI changes fast, parts of the course may be updated, replaced, or retired as the technology evolves. And if there comes a point when Joyful AI Lab no longer makes sense as a programme, we may eventually retire it.

For three months, you'll be able to submit questions for Simone and Danny. Once a month, we'll record a Q&A session answering as many of those questions as we can, and build a growing library of answers along the way.
